On the afternoon of July 29th, the first section of the pipe jacking for the improvement project of the intake pipe network of Huijiatang Pumping Station was successfully opened. With the activation of the operation button, the huge pipe jacking machinery drove the pipeline to advance to the next well position at an average speed of 10 meters per day. The implementation of this project will further enhance the efficiency of sewage collection and the safety of transportation in our city. It is planned to complete the main construction of the project by the end of June next year.

The project will build two large-diameter sewage pipes along Longjiang Road, Huanghai Road, Huanghe Road, Huashan Road and Hongtu Road. The total length of the pipes is 7.4 kilometers, and the pipe diameters are 1,600 millimeters and 2,600 millimeters. The implementation of this project will achieve the horizontal connection of the two major north-south sewage transportation arteries on Changjiang Road and Longjiang Road. At the same time, it will form a new pattern of mutual dispatching and interconnection between the sewage transportation networks in Xinbei District and those in the eastern part of Tianning District, significantly enhancing the safety of urban sewage operation and the risk resistance capacity of sewage pipelines.

It is reported that due to the complex comprehensive pipelines in the construction section and the existence of situations such as overpassing the subway and underpassing high-pressure gas pipelines, in order to avoid affecting the surrounding structures and important pipelines, some construction sections have adopted a new construction technique of curved pipe jacking, with the longest single jacking distance exceeding 1 kilometer, thus ensuring that the pipe jacking effectively avoids sensitive areas.
